2022 Panini Prizm UFC Ilia Topuria Rookie Card #115

Ilia Topuria is one of the few modern names I am deliberately going deep on, and this is the card that anchors it: his 2022 Panini Prizm UFC base rookie, card 115, the one with the RC shield in the corner. Prizm is the set the UFC market treats as the flagship, so the Prizm base rookie is the foundational card of any fighter from this era, and El Matador is a name I want a real position in.
I already own his Donruss Optic Rated Rookie, the Blue Velocity parallel, and I wanted the Prizm to sit right next to it. The two together are the pillars of a modern rookie: the flashy numbered Optic and the flagship Prizm base. The photo on this one is peak Topuria, mid scream after a finish, the exact kind of personality the card market pays up for.
Why I Bought It
The case for Topuria is the same one I laid out in my investing thesis and on my wishlist: a finish first featherweight with real charisma, the kind of name the market chases when a star breaks out. The flagship Prizm rookie is the card that benefits most from that, because it is the one the whole hobby agrees on. Raw base copies still trade around $6, while a clean PSA 10 has run near $90, which I checked on eBay sold listings and 130point. That spread is the whole point: the base is cheap, but the graded gem is where the scarcity lives.
This copy looks clean enough to be a real grading candidate, and a high grade flagship Prizm rookie is exactly the kind of fixed supply I want to own. I track the graded population on PSA and pull the checklist on Panini America. For now it is a hold, a foundational piece in the modern half of my collection and a bet I am glad to make early.
